Separation Agreements.

You may or may not be married but are separating and have joint assets and/or children.

More people today are choosing not to marry. But that does not stop people from living and having children with significant others. Family Circle offers mediation for separation agreements so that you can decide on how you would like to divide shared assets and debts, and/or determine parenting time schedules and child expense sharing.

Divorce.

You and your partner are married and seeking a divorce.

Family Circle offers mediation to address all concerns around divorce, no matter the length of the marriage. Topics that will be discussed include division of assets and debts, marital vs. non-marital property, pensions and retirement accounts, spousal support, child custody and parenting time, and child support. You know your own family the best and know the best solutions for it; Family Circle will be there to help facilitate an agreement that works for all parties.

Co-Habitation Agreements.

You may or may not be married and breaking up but will still be living together.

These agreements are for those couples who cannot afford to live separately or choosing to stay under the same roof, but are no longer together and need some structure on how to live together. These agreements are for both married and unmarried couples.  These agreements help maintain the peace and the relationship through real-life solutions that fit your dynamic.

Modifications.

You already have an agreement or judgment and you need to change it.

Modifications occur for a wide range of reasons. Perhaps the judgment was made when the children were young and now as they are teenagers, a new parenting time arrangement is needed; maybe incomes have changed substantially and child support needs to be recalculated or expenses shared in a different way. If you share children, no matter their age, you will always be a part of each other’s lives; for that reason, it is best to resolve disputes civilly and in the best interest of the child. Life changes, and your agreement should reflect what works for your family as life changes.

Prenuptial Agreements.

You are preparing for marriage.

More people today are obtaining prenuptial agreements for a variety of reasons -- whether that’s being the children of divorced parents, getting married while older and more financially established, or simply not seeing marriage as a financial relationship. Family Circle will help determine how you financially define your relationship, saving you hardship down the road, and creating clear expectations and understandings for each person during the marriage. Like any contract, prenuptial agreements can always be modified if circumstances change.

Couples Mediation.

Your relationship is troubled but you both would like to stay together.

Couple/Marital mediation is for couples who acknowledge there are issues within their relationship but are committed to staying together to resolve the issues before seeking a separation/divorce. In our sessions we establish compromises to real life issues and learn to communicate better with each other. Issues can range from who does the dishes on which day, sex/polygamy, budgets, child care arrangements, or determining individual rights to retirement accounts. This is not marital therapy but solution based negotiations.

Family Circle does not provide legal advice or tax advice, therefore we recommend each member seek independent legal advice on any questions they may have regarding legal implications throughout the mediation process.
